At PMP, our manumold process and experience gives us the flexibility to reduce cost and tackle some pretty complicated over moulded applications.
Over moulding plastic - aesthetic and functional applications including the need for hard and soft materials combined or clear and solid plastics.
Over moulding metal - application examples include; bolts, studs, nuts, inserts and bearings.
Over moulding electrical wiring - application examples include; wiring terminations and electrical contacts.
Hard & Soft Plastics Combined
Heinz Baby Feeding Range combined the rigid strength of polycarbonate handles over moulded with 'soft feel' TPE. The component design allowed the customer logo to be seen as part of the soft grip handle.
Clear & Solid Materials The same over mould process (as above) can combine, for example, a clear polycarbonate lens over moulded to create a single assembly with a solid plastic. This can eliminate assembly operations and cost, and a permanent seal between the two materials is guaranteed.

Over Moulding Metal
Benefits of over moulding metal parts include, elimination of assembly operations and cost, permanent bond between the insert and plastic and the chance to have good looking, 3 dimensional products in a range of colours with the insert firmly fixed into the plastic.
Electrical Applications
Over moulding of electrical items such as wiring terminations also creates a permanent seal between the plastic and metal so that I.P ratings (Ingress Protection) can be achieved to keep out moisture. Virtually any electrical contact can be over moulded.
Our specialist operatives are assigned to take care of each
machine's manufactured product allowing our productivity control to
be efficient. This is reflected in our shop floor culture and discipline.
